Casual Cushion Corporation
A True Family Affair

Casual Cushion Corporation was founded in 1979 in Hollywood, FL by Ernie and Pierrette Siesel. Ernie had many years of experience in the textile and clothing industry before starting Casual Cushion. Casual Cushions’ primary business is manufacturing of outdoor patio cushions and umbrellas.  Our customers are located throughout the United States and Canada, and include national retailers, online and catalog retailers, furniture manufacturers and specialty pool and patio stores.

In 2001, Ernie and Pierrette’s son Mike joined and in 2004 their other son Jason made Casual Cushion a true family affair. In 2004 we started looking at other options to move the factory as the business increased dramatically.  After about a year and two hurricanes in South Florida, they changed their option to other areas other than South Florida.  It was then that they decided to look at the Greater Charlotte area and in 2006 found a building suitable in the Waterford Business Park in Rock Hill. During 2006 and 2007 Casual Cushion continued operating in both the South Carolina and Florida locations. This allowed them to make sure that once the full move was completed there would be minimal issues.  In August of 2007 they closed the Florida location and both Mike and Jason moved their families to the Charlotte area.

Going to this Charlotte area has provided Casual Cushion with greater access to the major fabric, foam, and fiber suppliers. Even in this market of high gas prices their inbound freight has been reduced by over 50%.  They have also seen increased productivity and a large labor pool.  The move has given Casual Cushion the ability to continue their growth. They are enjoying the hospitality of the people in this region and look forward to many years of textile manufacturing in the area.
