Contempora Fabrics
-- Employees are Greatest
Asset
Contempora Fabrics was founded in 1972 by Lacy C. Nance
to produce fine gauge interlock and single knit fabrics. In 1985 we purchased
40% of the company through an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP). The
company grew to a 120-machine installation by 1986 and operated strictly as
commission knitters.
In 1989 we became 100% ESOP. Today Contempora Fabrics
operates 165 machines in a 150,000 square foot facility on 29 acres and is
known for a versatile product mix and capacity to manufacture 2 million pounds
of fabric each month. Contempora has a large impact on the community of
Lumberton, NC and supports local charities and employs school youth during
their summer break. Our success is a direct result of hard work and dedication
of our employees---our greatest asset.
Contempora Fabrics is committed to customer service,
short delivery cycles and quality assurance. Our research and development team
is capable of meeting your specific design needs. Our finished fabrics are
used in a variety of areas including active wear, career wear, children's
wear, formal wear, intimate apparel, men's wear, sportswear, swimwear and
women's wear.
